Quixote Center Announcement

Dear Friend,

Greetings from the Quixote Center. As you know, the work of the Quest
for Peace expanded last year in response to the ongoing crisis in
Honduras in the aftermath of the June 2009 military coup d'état. Your
support, participation in delegations and advocacy work are deeply
inspiring. You have strengthened us to stand firmly with the people of
Honduras during this difficult and dangerous time for them and all of
Latin America.

Tom Loudon, who has led this work, has been appointed to be the
Executive Secretary for the Commission of Truth, an autonomous,
independent commission which was inaugurated on June 28, 2010 the first
anniversary of the coup d'état in Honduras.

This is a tremendous honor which we are proud to share with all of you.
It will be an intense year ahead as the Commission works to fulfill its
mandate,

/"to make sure that the collective voice of the people of Honduras is
not overcome by forgetting and silence, that impunity does not reign
over justice and to build structures that ensure that the shadow of coup
d'états never again falls over Honduras." /

This appointment comes at a time of transition and discernment for the
Quixote Center. In order to facilitate the work of Tom and Jenny in
Honduras and Latin America, at this particularly critical time, their
program work is being transferred to the Nicaragua-U.S. Friendship
Office, founded in 1991 by Rita Clark D'Escoto, where they will carry on
the work that you have supported so faithfully.

Work with the Institute John XXIII as part of the Quest for Peace, will
remain at the Quixote Center.

Please join us in celebrating this important honor and historic
opportunity. We will need your continued help and support for these
programs at their new home with the Nicaragua-U.S. Friendship Office: PO
Box 926, Greenbelt, MD 20768 or 301-204-9549 or 301-614-0545.

In hope and solidarity,

Board and Staff of the Quixote Center
