*Honduras Accompaniment Project - Urgent action update

*As it is getting late, the 6 detainees are still inside the Core 7
Metropolitana Police Station. Fortunately, a forensic doctor was let in to
examine them, as well as a lawyer who is currently informing them of their
rights.

Nick Madrid Alvarado and Ramón Isaias Ortega are facing charges of attack
against an official (atentado), desobedience (desobediencia) and creating
injuries (lesiones). Official charges haven't been laid against the 4 others
yet.

The process of passing the detention report from the Core 7 officers to the
Fiscalía seems to be taking a lot of time, therefore we ask that you please
keep on calling in the morning in order to check on the situation. Adding to
the preoccupations associated with the detention of a pregnant woman (Guadalupe
Irene Garai), there are some strong concerns with the situation of Nick
Madrid Alvarado and Ramón Isaias Ortega, since both repeatedly experienced
harassment from State forces related to their political activism in the
past.

Once again, the numbers for you to call to express your concern for the
detainees' safety and that their human rights be respected are *

Police Station).
