[Proyecto Hondureño]

*COMUNICADO EN SOLIDARIDAD CON LA CLASE TRABAJADORA DE HONDURAS.*

*Primero de Mayo, 2014 *

*La Red de Solidaridad con Honduras en EE.UU. (HSN) y los Colectivos del
D19-EE.UU-Canada,  a la comunidad nacional e internacional manifestamos:*

Que nosotros y nosotras ciudadanos/as estadounidenses y canadienses - de
organizaciones que luchan por los derechos humanos, la justicia social y
solidaridad, e Inmigrantes de Honduras, organizados/as en colectivos del
FNRP/Partido Libertad y Refundación, libre,  en esta fecha de conmemoración
a los Mártires del Primero de Mayo, (Mártires de Chicago), hacemos eco de
tan importantes efemérides, para honrar junto a la Clase Trabajadora
hondureña el 60 aniversario de la histórica Huelga General de 1954 contra
la transnacional bananera United Fruit Company.

Que La Huelga de 1954 marcó un hito en las conquistas laborales como la
creación del código de trabajo, el derecho a la libre negociación
colectiva, el sufragio de la mujer y la  creación de un movimiento sindical
que hasta hoy se mantiene.

Que en junio de 2009, la oligarquía vernácula hondureña junto a Embajada de
EE.UU y grupos de poder en EE.UU y América Latina, perpetraron un brutal
golpe de Estado militar que derrocó al Presidente constitucional, Manuel
Zelaya, un gobierno identificado plenamente con la clase trabajadora y
campesina. Que a raíz del golpe de Estado, la sociedad hondureña está
sumergida en la peor crisis política y social donde prevalece la muerte, la
extrema pobreza, la violencia, la represión y persecución estatal por la
policía militar y los escuadrones de la muerte, ganándole a Honduras el
deshonroso título del “país más violento del mundo” en donde 22
hondureños/as son asesinados cada 24 horas, sobre todo periodistas,
abogados, líderes campesinos, jóvenes, mujeres, comunidad LGBT, miembros de
la Resistencia y del Partido libre.

Que bajo los regímenes fascistas de Porfirio Lobo y Juan Orlando Hernández
(este último impuesto por el descarado fraude electoral en 2013), ambos
continuadores del golpe de Estado, muchos de los logros alcanzados por los
trabajadores hondureños les han sido arrebatados, los sindicatos
magisteriales han sido atacados, los trabajos permanentes han sido
reemplazados por trabajos a medio tiempo sin ningún beneficio. Los sectores
públicos de la sociedad hondureña como La Empresa Nacional de Energía
Eléctrica (ENEE) y a la Empresa Hondureña de Telecomunicaciones (HONDUTEL)
entre otras han sido privatizados. Que bajo dichos regímenes dictatoriales,
el territorio soberano hondureño está siendo concesionado a empresas
extranjeras para la construcción de ciudades modelos también conocidas como
Zonas de desarrollo.

Que nosotros, la clase obrera multinacional de los EE.UU, desde junio de
2009 hemos venido caminado junto al heroico movimiento de resistencia,
clase obrera, sindical, campesinos, pueblos originarios y garífunas y
movimientos sociales de Honduras y nos unimos en este Primero de Mayo,
elevando nuestra voz de protesta contra el régimen fascista y represivo de
Juan Orlando Hernández, un títere de EE.UU en Honduras y reafirmamos
nuestro compromiso de seguir luchando y denunciando la represión, la
violación de los derechos humanos y laborales del sector organizado y el
pueblo en general. Que en honor a la huelga de 1954 y a los Mártires de
Chicago y de la Resistencia:

¡Viva el Primero de Mayo y Viva la clase obrera internacional!

¡Viva la lucha por la autodeterminación de Honduras

¡Alto a la privatización!

¡Alto a la matanza y militarización!

*SOLIDARITY STATEMENT WITH THE WORKING CLASS OF HONDURAS*

*May Day, 2014*

*The Honduras Solidarity Network in the US, (HSN) and the Collectives of
the D19 -US - Canada, to the national and international communities
declare:*

That, we, US and Canadian citizens - members of human rights, social
justice, and solidarity organizations, and Honduran immigrants organized in
FNRP / Libre Party collectives, on this date that commemorates the martyrs
of May Day (Martyrs of Chicago), we echo the commemoration of this
important anniversary to honor the Working Class of Honduras on the 60th
anniversary of the historic 1954 General Strike against the banana company
United Fruit.

That 1954 marked an important milestone in social achievements such as the
creation of the Labor Code , the right to free collective bargaining ,
women 's suffrage and the creation of a labor movement that is maintained
to the present .

That in June 2009, the Honduran domestic oligarchy along with U.S. Embassy
and power groups in the U.S. and Latin America, perpetrated a brutal
military coup that overthrew the constitutional president, Manuel Zelaya, a
government fully identified with the working class and the peasants. That
following the coup, Honduran society is immersed in the worst political and
social crisis where violence, state repression and persecution by the
military police and death squads prevail, granting Honduras the
dishonorable title of "most violent country in the world “, where 22
Hondurans are killed every 24 hours, especially journalists, lawyers,
peasant leaders, youth, women, LGBT community and members of the Resistance
and Libre Party.

That under the fascist regimes of Porfirio Lobo and Juan Orlando Hernandez
(the latter imposed by blatant electoral fraud in 2013) both of whom are
coup successors, many of the achievements of the Honduran workers have been
taken from them; the teachers' unions have been severely attacked,
permanent jobs have been replaced by part-time jobs with no benefits.
Public sector enterprises in Honduran society such as the National
Electricity Company (ENEE) and the Honduran Telecommunications Company
(HONDUTEL), among others, have been privatized. That under these
dictatorial regimes, the Honduran sovereign territory is being given away
to foreign companies for the construction of model cities also known as
Development Areas.

That we, the multinational working class of the U.S. and Canada, since June
2009, have been walking with the heroic resistance movement of workers,
unions, the indigenous and Garifuna people, peasants and social movements,
and we join with Honduras this May Day, raising our voice of protest
against the fascist and repressive regime of Juan Orlando Hernandez, a U.S.
puppet in Honduras, and reaffirm our commitment to continue fighting and
denouncing the repression and violation of human and labor rights of the
organized sectors and people in general. That in honor of the 1954 general
strike and the Martyrs of Chicago and the Resistance on May Day:

Long live May Day and the international working classes!Long live the
self-determination

struggle of Honduras!

Stop privatization!

Stop the killings and the militarization!
