Francisco Castillo, FNRP member, assassinated

Wednesday, March 17 at 5:30 pm, Francisco Castillo, member of the National Resistance Against the Coup, was assassinated. Before the coup, Francisco Castillo worked for a company owned by Miguel Facusse, but his involvement in the coup made him quit his job.

Mr. Castillo had housed Father Andres Tamayo in his home, provided him a vehicle while the priest remained in the city of Tegucigalpa. On September 22 he was arrested during a violent eviction that took place in the vicinity of the Embassy of Brazil, and was unlawfully detained in the premises of the Chochi Sosa sports complex. He was released thanks to the efforts of the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights.
