and are looking for solidarity statements from around the world to read out

la justicia, a un *ayuno en diversas formas a partir del 15 de septiembre,
2009,* fecha en que Honduras y centroamérica conmemoran la independencia.

*El pueblo hondureño necesita una nueva independencia del regimen de
facto*que usurpó el poder con un golpe militar el 28 de junio, 2009.
Este ayuno
busca promover la noviolencia activa y el Artículo III de la Constitución
hondureña que garantiza que: *“Nadie debe obediencia a un gobierno usurpador
… El pueblo tiene derecho a recurrir a la insurrección en defensa del orden
constitucional.”*

*15 de Sept. — Se lanza el Ayuno por Honduras a nivel mundial*

En el marco del día de la independencia, el 15 de Septiembre, 2009, se lanza
el *Ayuno Mundial por Honduras: Insurrección Noviolenta del Pueblo* que
apela por la solidaridad internacional para que Honduras sea independiente
del regimen de facto que usurpó el poder del estado hace 80 días.

El ayuno solidario con la insurrección noviolenta en Honduras se lanza en 12
países con más de 80 ayunantes:

Apelamos por la solidaridad del mundo con la insurrección noviolenta del
pueblo hondureño que busca:

1.   *Retornar a la constitucionalidad en Honduras y restaurar a José Manuel
Zelaya Rosales en la presidencia de la Republica.*

2.   *Poner en práctica el Artículo II de la Constitución de Honduras que
establece que “La soberanía corresponde al pueblo del cual emanan todos los
poderes del Estado que se ejercen por representación” ejercitando el derecho
a constituir la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente.*

3.   *Asegurar que las próximas elecciones se celebren con transparencia
bajo un Estado de derecho una vez restituido el presidente Zelaya.*

4.   *Garantizar que ningún ser humano este sobre la ley, debiéndose aplicar
la justicia a los autores intelectuales y ejecutores del golpe de Estado; y
a quienes atentaron contra los derechos humanos de la población hondureña
durante el tiempo que el gobierno de facto usurpó el poder.*

5.   *Desmilitarizar Honduras completamente para fortalecer la democracia y
facilitar la transferencia de recursos humanos y materiales de la violencia
a la noviolencia, de la guerra a la paz, de la muerte a la vida. De igual
forma, se procura la abolición de todas las bases militares extranjeras.*

6.   *Denunciar la complicidad del gobierno de Estados Unidos con el regimen
de facto al no declarar que ocurrió un golpe militar en Honduras y se siguen
entrenando militares hondureños en instituciones estadounidenses como
laEscuela de las Américas,actualmente conocido como WHINSEC (por sus
síglas en inglés).

*The National Resistance Front against the Coup d'etat in Honduras **invites
all people of conscience in solidarity with life, peace and justice to fast
in different ways beginning September 15, 2009, independence day for
Honduras and Central America.*

*The Honduran people demand a new kind of independence from the coup regime
**that usurped power in a military coup on June 28, 2009. This fast seeks to
promote active nonviolence and the III Article of the Honduran Constitution
which guarantees that: “No one should obey a usurper government … The people
have a right to rise up in insurrection to defend the constitutional order**
.”*

*September 15, 2009 – Worldwide Fast for Honduras launched *

September 15th, Honduran independence day, marks the launch of the *Worldwide
Fast for Honduras: People's Nonviolent Insurrection *which appeals for
international solidarity so that Honduras will be truly independent from the
coup regime that usurped governmental power 80 days earlier.

This fast in solidarity with the people's nonviolent insurrection in
Honduras is being launched in many countries around the world with a host of
participants in the fast.

We appeal for worldwide solidarity with the nonviolent insurrection of the
Honduran people which seeks:

*1.   **The return of constitutional government in Honduras and the
restoration of José Manuel Zelaya Rosales as president of the Republic.*

*2.   **To put in practice Article II of the Honduran Constitution through a
National Constituent Assembly.  Article II states that “Sovereignty
corresponds to the people from whom all powers of State are derived and
executed with representative government.”*

*3.   **To guarantee that the next elections are free and fair and take
place with transparency under the rule of law once President Zelaya is
returned to power.  *

4.   To certify that no one is above the law and that justice be applied to
the intellectual authors and direct perpetrators of the coup d'etat; and to
those who violated the human rights of the Honduran population during the
time that the de facto government usurped state power.

*5.   *To completely demilitarize Honduras in order to strengthen democracy
and facilitate the transfer of human and material resources from violence to
nonviolence, from war to peace. Similarly, we demand the abolition of all
foreign military bases and an end to the training of military at the School
of the Americas, currently known as WHINSEC, *the Western Hemisphere
Institute for Security Cooperation.*

*6.   **We urge that the government of the United States declare that a
military coup occurred in Honduras from the perspective of the law which
states that no funds “shall be obligated or expended to finance directly any
assistance to the government of any country whose duly elected head of
government is deposed by military coup or decree.” *

*We invite all in solidarity with Honduras to join the Worldwide Fast for
Honduras: People's Nonviolent Insurrection.*
