*Denouncing Terror On The Rise In Honduras*

*SUPPORT IS URGENT!!!*

The de facto coup government of Roberto Micheletti and allies intensifies
aggression in an effort to halt over 90 days of heroic peaceful resistance
of the Honduran people, who have met military tanks and toxic shell attacks
with determination.
The illegitimate government decreed a series of measures that *further
restrict the civil and constitutional liberties* of the Honduran people
including but not limited to:
 *Freedom to congregate, Freedom to hold marches and protest, Freedom of
expression, Freedom of the press*

*In addition: *There is the threat to close any media organizations that
cast an unfavorable light on the coup government and its members. Full
authority to arrest and detain people has been given to police and military.
According to the notice, these decrees must be approved by the republic’s
congress.

*Sunday September 27 , 2009*  a wake was held for student *Wendy Elizabeth
Avila of 24 years of age* who died after the toxic gas attack perpetrated by
the police near the Brazilian Embassy.  Wendy had asthma and was unable to
recover from the gas attacks.  At the time of the attack Wendy was on the
back of her husband’s motorcycle and in the force of the attack she was
thrown from the rear, the motorcycle was destroyed and she was overcome by
the gasses.  At her wake, her husband spoke of  her untiring commitment and
conviction demonstrated by the fact that she was taking care of the embassy
at 4am in the morning.  Members of the resistance chanted, “Spilled blood
will not be negotiated.”  Wendy joins the growing numbers of brothers and
sisters who have been unjustly taken by repression.

*What can YOU do?*

* 1. Please continue to call both the Honduran Desk at the State House and
the White House asking them to take measures to avoid the blood shed in
Honduras* .
