[HNA] Urgent campaig to ask Pres. Lula to go to Tegucigalpa

Dear friend of peace and democracy in Honduras:

Please write to the President of Brazil, Mr. Lula Da Silva to request that
he take a brave stance on the conflict in Honduras and asserts the support
of Brazil to the only legitimate President of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya who
is currently under siege by the Honduran Police and Military Forces in the
Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa.

The Brazilian Presidency only accept emails sent through a system of web
forms to be completed manually in order to curtail spam. We are providing
the link for English, Spanish and naturally Portuguese. We suggest that
you send the letter in Portuguese.

Please proceed ASAP on this request since time is of the essence.

Dear Presidente Lula Da Silva,

I write to you to respectfully to request that you take an important step
for democracy in the situation evolving in your country’s embassy in
Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Manuel Zelaya, the legitimate President of
Honduras, is currently a guest in your embassy, while the illegitimate
business/military dictatorship of Roberto Micheletti is attacking the
people inside and repressing and imprisoning the supporters of democracy
who seek to accompany their President outside. Your own staff in the
Embassy are also subject to the acoustic and chemical bombardment carried
out against the people in the Embassy. This is an outrageous act of
cowardice and a gross violation of human rights against unarmed civilians.
The entire world rejects these actions and demands that the Honduran
dictatorship step down and the legitimate President be restored to power.

I am therefore appealing to you to intercede for democracy and human
rights and suggest that you personally travel to Tegucigalpa, meet with
President Zelaya and assess the situation in the Embassy of Brazil there.

Le escribo respetuosamente para pedirle que tome un importante paso por la
democracia en la situación que se desarrolla en la embajada de su país en
Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Manuel Zelaya, legítimo Presidente de Honduras es
actualmente huesped en su embajada, mientras que la ilegítima dictadura
militar/empresarial de Roberto Micheletti ataca a la gente que está dentro
de la embajada y reprime y detiene a los que buscan acompañar a su
presidente desde afuera. El propio personal de su Embajada es también
víctima del bombardeo químico y acustico contra los ocupantes de la
Embajada. Este es un acto extremo de cobardía y de total violación de los
derechos humanos de civiles desarmados. El mundo entero rechaza estas
acciones y demanda que la dictadura Hondureña abandone el poder y que el
legítimo Presidente sea restaurado en el poder.

Por lo tanto apelo a Usted para que interceda por la democracia y los
derechos humanos y le sugiero que viaje personalmente a Tegucigalpa, se
reuna con el Presidente Zelaya y se entere de la situación de la Embajada
de Brazil en el sitio mismo.

pela democracia na situacao que se desenrola na embaixada de seu pais em

Manuel Zelaya, legitimo Presidente de Honduras é atualmente hospede em sua
embaixada, enquanto que a legitima ditadura militar/empresarial de Roberto
Micheletti ataca as pessoas que estáo dentro da embaixada; reprime e detem
os que buscam acompanhar o seu presidente desde fora. O proprio pessoal de
sua embaixada é também
victima do bombardeio químico e acustico contra os ocupantes da embaixada.
Este é de total violacao dos direitos humanos de civis desarmados. O mundo
inteiro rechaca estas acoés e demanda que a ditadura hondurenha abandone o
poder, e que o legitimo Presidente seja reposto no poder.

Portanto apelo a V.exa para que interceda  pela democracia e direitos
humanos, e sugiro que viaje pessoalmente a Tegucigalpa, se reuna com o
Presidente Zelaya e se inteire da situacao da embaixada de Brasil no mesmo
lugar.
